Stage Hypnotist Harrison Smith   Hypnotist Harrison Smith's
Quarterly Newsletter for
November 1997

So much has happened during 1997! As many of you know, at the beginning of the year we started working exclusively through the great people at Your Event Solution of Atlanta. We look forward to working with them many times in the future, but it will no longer be on an exclusive basis. This means that for available dates and bookings, you will need to contact us directly at the telephone numbers and address on the bottom of this page or by e-mail.

I reserve the right to express my views from time to time on various topics, both show business and non show business, and I encourage feedback from you on anything that you might agree with, anything that you don't agree with, or just a comment with your own opinion.  As some of you may know, I have a varied background, starting as a dancer, then magician, musician, road rock musician, ham radio operator, as well as my present status as a hypnotist and psychic entertainer.  Along the way I even found time to finish school, college and get a law degree (J.D.) from the University of Georgia.  I have had extensive training in mediation and arbitration, and served 2 terms as a State Legislator in the Georgia House of Representatives.  Although I still maintain a law office and practice some law, about 8 years ago I decided that I wanted to return to my first love, performing.  If you read the reprint of the article from Convention South Magazine attached to this site, that will give you even more background.

My energies now are dedicated to performing the best hypnotism show that money can buy, and changes and improvements are continuous toward that end.  My focus is toward corporate and corporate type entertainment, corporate convention and meeting banquets, festivals, fairs, home and trade shows, and exhibition type events.   I don't do  a risque show and often perform where children are in the audience and have never had a complaint.  I have nothing against and am not being critical of my fellow hypnotic performers who do such shows, but it is just not my style, and I am not comfortable with it.  I do and have done college shows, and they laugh just as hard as they would at any hilarious show and so don't find it necessary to deviate from my usual show.  I also don't go for cheap laughs at the expense of the dignity and self esteem of my audience volunteers.  Without audience volunteers there would be no show, and they are the stars of my show.  I want them to enjoy the experience and look forward to volunteering again.   NOTE:   We are working on a script designed for comedy clubs, but it will still be inoffensive. It will also be very, very funny and entertaining! The main difference is that the entire show will be playable on comedy club size stages, which are generally smaller than that required for some of the routines used in my standard show.

The show contains a lot of sound and music, much of it original.  We are in the process of moving all of our sound and music to CD format to make it even more effective and easier on the sound technician.  A new introduction is in the works, as are new dance routines and sketches.  My old friends and fellow Psychic Entertainer Association members, Jim and Melania Magus just left from an overnight visit and made many helpful suggestions which will be implemented.    Before the end of the year our Great show will be a Greater show and World Class.  This is a promise!
