 Hypnotist Harrison Smith's

Quarterly Newsletter for January 2001

Yes, I know, my quarters are very very long!  This is the first update in over 2 years, but what a period it has been.

We now have all of our music and sound effects transferred to CD, and have added many more than we were able to handle on audio tape.  It is my intention to continue making those changes that will improve the show in this and all other respects.  We want to do a "SHOW" rather than just be another hypnotist doing an act.

The corporate entertainment venue is still growing, and we have begun to add other venues with great frequency as well, such as fairs, clubs and schools/colleges.  We have also expanded our coverage area to include Asia, having performed in Singapore in the Spring of 2000!

We recently added a copy of our regular promotion video to this site which is downloadable and payable on "RealPlayer" which most of us have on our computers.   The link is on page one of the site.   The Microsoft fans will be glad to know that I will also add a Microsoft Media format of the video as soon as time permits.  Plans are to duplicate the entire Harrison Smith web site on a computer CD (perhaps even in business card size), along with a higher quality reproduction of my promotional video so that the mailing of the one CD to a prospective client will give a full complete promotional package on a disk so that they can easily see what we can offer them in the way of first rate entertainment.  This will be convenient for all since almost everyone has or has access to a computer with a CD player.

I encourage feedback from you on anything that you might agree with, anything that you don't agree with, or just a comment with your own opinion.  As some of you may know, I have a varied background, starting as a dancer, then magician, musician, road rock musician, ham radio operator, as well as my present status as a hypnotist and psychic entertainer.  Along the way I even found time to finish school, college and get a law degree (J.D.) from the University of Georgia.  I have had extensive training in mediation and arbitration, and served 2 terms as a State Legislator in the Georgia House of Representatives.  Although I still maintain a law office and practice some law part time, my first focus is on performing, and I can and will work extended dates anywhere.

By the way, I was inducted into the Hall of Honor of the Atlanta Country Music Hall of Fame in November of 2000, at an awards ceremony in Atlanta for work that I did as a musician over the years. A wonderful honor that I am proud of receiving.   The certificate attesting to this honor hangs in a prominent place in my office.

My energies are still dedicated to performing the best hypnotism show that money can buy, and changes and improvements are continuous toward that end.  My focus is toward corporate and corporate type entertainment, corporate convention and meeting banquets, festivals, fairs, home and trade shows, and exhibition type events.   I don't do  a risque show and often perform where children are in the audience and have never had a complaint.  I have nothing against and am not being critical of my fellow hypnotic performers who do such shows, but it is just not my style, and I am not comfortable with it.  I do and have done college shows, and they laugh just as hard as they would at any hilarious show and so don't find it necessary to deviate from my usual show.  I also don't go for cheap laughs at the expense of the dignity and self esteem of my audience volunteers.  Without audience volunteers there would be no show, and they are the stars of my show.  I want them to enjoy the experience and look forward to volunteering again.   NOTE:   We are working on a script designed for comedy clubs, but it will still be inoffensive. It will also be very, very funny and entertaining! The main difference is that the entire show will be playable on comedy club size stages, which are generally smaller than that required for some of the routines used in my standard show.

We feel that we have really perfected a world class show!
